THE capital.

BARCELONA. What an insane city. Fashionable, historic, artistic and exceptionally amazing food.

I spent last week exploring this beautiful city and I am in love. It has everything you want – the hustle and bustle of city life with amazing bars and restaurants and the long stretch of blue sea decorated with enchanting boats and marinas with enough culture and history to feel like you were walking the streets of Rome.

The Boqueria Market was literally Borough Market on steroids, i’m not even joking. It was huge with every square inch filled with amazing bright, colourful, fresh foods and drinks. Loaded with Barcelona’s traditional treats you could get a real sense of culture and way of life just by walking the aisles. A favourite of mine was the fresh tapas stops where a swift drink and the fresh catch of the day was on offer. Known for renowned artist Gaudi I thought a trip to The Sagrada Familia was a must and wow I was right. This vast building, which has actually been unfinished for years was genuinely mesmerising. The height and detail that had gone into each brick, window or statue was insane. Most definitely one to check out, even if your not a fan of history. Who loves Zara and Mango ? ME. Your thirst for the latest Spanish trends can 100% be quenched in Barcelona. With high street shops and unique boutiques on every corner it is very hard not to use that credit card. A short walk down Las Ramblas represents an unhealthy amount of lush food and cocktails, which I took full advantage off.

I can’t fault Barcelona, well apart from there being NO PROSECCO!! It truly is a captivating city with so much to do and explore. Its a city everyone will enjoy, book it now !!
